4 Paw Patrol is a website dedicated to helping homeless pets in and around Ventura county and the Truckee Tahoe Basin, who are left unwanted in shelters and on the street, get a second chance to live the loved life they deserve. These precious animals didn't ask for the hand they have been dealt and don't understand how they've ended up where they have or why. Please help us make a difference. Even if it is only saving one life at a time; it makes all the difference to that one special pet who will now be a loved member of the family!

"Deserving Dogs" will take you to a page to preview adoptable shelter dogs waiting to go home with you. Helpful pet tips can be found on "The Dog House." And, if you'd like to get in contact with or maybe get involved with a rescue around your area you may be able to find a link to their website on the "Rescues" page.

Ruby the Saint Bernard is Desperately in Need of a Forever Home!

Ruby was adopted by a loving family hoping to add a new member of their family forever on May 11, 2008. They were provided with some background health information on Ruby by the rescue stating that her ears were just musty like most Saints and that her nose had a scrape on it from going in and out of her cage. The family took Ruby to their family vet the next day to have her checked over. It was then they were made aware of her true medical conditions. Ruby suffers from chronic yeast infections in her ears that MUST be treated with anitbiotics. The wound on her nose has become a skin infection from not being treated correctly and also requires medication. The family vet also determined Ruby will need knee surgery on her left knee in the near future and her right knee more than likely later on. None of these medical conditions are currently being treated by her rescue foster family and all of the medical conditions cause Ruby great pain. The sadest part is that each of the medical conditions is TREATABLE. Unfortunately, the family who adopted Ruby has a Saint Bernard who is currenlty suffering from bone cancer and still recovering financially from treating that and her knee surgery as well. Reluctantly, the family had to return Ruby to her rescue foster family sadly knowing they would not be able to financial support the care she currently needs. They are actively trying to find a family who will be able to provide Ruby with not only the medical care she needs but the love she deserves. The adopted family fell in love with Ruby. They say she is the sweetest girl and has loads of love to give. They want her new family to know she will need obedience training as she doesn't seem to know any basic commands and she is a big girl. Keep in mind Saint Benards are cute... but they grow to be very big. Saints are known as Gentle Giants and Ruby is the golden spoon of them all. If you'd like more informaiton on Ruby or her medical conditions please contact us via email or the family by email as well @
chrisnik95@sbcglobal.net. They can provide you with even more background information and specifics regarding Ruby's current Medical needs and what her surgery will entail as their Saint just had the same surgery! Let's all work together to find Ruby the loving forever home she deserves!

The How and Why 4 Paw Patrol was founded:

Rescuing shelter dogs is a passion and personal mission of mine. Opening a dog rescue has been my dream for a long time. However, you must have a lot of space or connections to even house the rescued dogs, not to mention how much money is needed to care for the animals properly. Since I am not in a position at the current time to start a rescue of my own, I really wanted to do something to support other rescues as well as bring attention to the deserving dogs in shelters. I had been scouting shelters on my own and trying to save one dog at a time by contacting rescue after rescue and even posting them up on rescue websites, which was working, but not as efficiently as I had hoped and I wanted to do more. So, I have developed 4 Paw Rescue. A website/ organization dedicated to bringing continuous attention to shelter dogs, finding them homes, and raising funds to donate to rescues, charities and other such organizations that are also dedicated to saving lives. I’d like to thank “Lulu,” a yellow lab who was thankfully adopted only hours (from what I was told) before she was to be euthanized.  She touched my heart so deeply that I have taken action to do even more.

I also want to thank everyone who cares and makes a difference in the lives of shelter dogs!
